The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
How does it benefit me?

The current stimulus bill (The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009) has some significant changes relating to tax credits for energy efficent home improvements. The highlights are:
- The tax credits that were previous effective for 2009, have been extended to 2010 as well.
The tax credit has been raised from 10% to 30%.
The maximun credit has been raised from $500 to $1,500 for the two years (2009-2010).
The $200 cap on windows has been removed.
- Improvements made in 2009 will be claimed on your 2009 taxes (filed by April 15, 2010) - use IRS Tax Form 5695 (2009 version)-it will be available late 2009 or early 2010. Save the Energy Star labels and all receipts for your records.
Here at Valley Glass we have prepaired ourselves for this tax relief program. We are ready to help you with your new and improved window and door projects. Not all Energy Star labeled windows and skylights qualify for tax credit. Make sure you ask for the Stimulus Package qualified windows and doors. Those windows and doors must have a U-Factor of 0.30 or less.
The Stimulus Tax Credit Package reads, all home owners will reveive a 30% credit up to $1,500 for the cost of the windows only. This credit is given to homeowners who use the said home as there primary residents.
